Tenure faculty (regardless of rank)

Persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure.

Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus;

obligations will include research, service and / or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

Position Overview

The Department of Molecular Genetics in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for the position of Ohio Eminent Scholar in Molecular Genetics, an endowed, tenure-track position at the Associate or Full Professor level.

The Ohio Eminent Scholars (OES) Program, created by the Ohio General Assembly and administered by the Ohio Board of Regents, aims to enhance the national eminence of selected outstanding academic programs at Ohio universities by attracting internationally recognized scholars.

Applications are sought from those with a distinguished track record of investigating fundamental biological questions in any system.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required : PhD and / or MD degree; established record of creativity and excellence in research; evidence of an independent research program;

commitment to teaching / mentoring. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to building a diverse intellectual community, in line with OSU’s (see below).

Desired : Strong track record as a mentor; experience with interdisciplinary research
