We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Coconut Grove, Florida. This role will involve overseeing financial processes and ensuring accuracy in construction draw reconciliations, budgets, and payments. Candidates should possess a strong background in construction accounting and demonstrate proficiency in handling general ledger tasks and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities :

• Review and reconcile construction draw budgets and payments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Identify and categorize transactions within the accounts payable system and accounting software.
• Perform month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and financial reports.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Reconcile accounts and bank statements to verify the accuracy of financial data.
• Analyze financial discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Construction industry experience.
• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Strong knowledge of account and bank reconciliation procedures.
• Familiarity with construction draw reconciliations and payment processes.
• Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
