Supervisor Purchasing

Job Description

The Purchasing Supervisor ensures that the organization receives materials in a timely and efficient manner, at competitive prices, without compromising safety and quality standards.

Oversees the procurement function, directing activities of the buyers and procurement team so that approved products are ordered and received according to policy and standards, with quality and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Leadership-Purchasing / Procurement Team Members

Supervision of the purchasing / procurement function and team members performing the following tasks : Buying material, expediting orders as needed, back-order management and communication, data review, and auditing.

Analyzes existing purchasing processes for performance improvement opportunities.

Partners with sourcing team to find suitable alternatives for products with manufacturer delays

Implements improvements to existing purchasing processes and delivery systems.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Reviews order process flow and timeliness metrics for efficient and effective ordering and delivery of products and services

Review procurement analysts touches to balance workload across team members.

Policy, Procedure and Regulatory Compliance

Monitors compliance for policies and procedures relative to vendor relations.

Qualifications

Experience : 4 years of purchasing, materials management, or supply chain experience; 2 years supervisory experience; 1 year of healthcare experience.

Education : Associate degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred
