District Safety Manager

District Safety Manager – Jacksonville, FL

Our client, a leader in residential and commercial waste management, is seeking a District Safety Manager to oversee safety and compliance across three Jacksonville-area operations.

The District Safety Manager will lead a team, supporting a district with 150 trucks and more than 300 employees. This position will focus heavily on safety training, compliance, and risk management while fostering a strong safety culture across all locations. The ideal candidate brings experience in trucking, a strong understanding of DOT and OSHA regulations, and the ability to engage and motivate teams.

Responsibilities :

• Implement and coordinate district safety programs to ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company policies.
• Partner with the General Manager to develop district-specific safety plans.
• Conduct site assessments and monitor compliance with safety standards.
• Provide training, mentoring, and oversight for operational safety programs.
• Analyze incident data and risk trends to recommend preventive actions.
• Act as liaison between the company, insurance representatives, and regulatory agencies.
• Identify and coach employees working in high-risk environments.
• Provide input on the annual safety budget and participate in corporate safety committees.
