Cleans all areas of Hospital by performing the following duties.
- Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
- Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, and clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
- Completes work assignment in a timely manner.
- Uses and maintains various types of equipment, including floor machines, properly.
- Strip and refinish floors.
- Hang window drapes and cubical curtains.
- Moves furniture (light).
- Shampoo carpet and furniture.
- Polish elevator and tracks.
- Transports heavy trash and hazardous waste from Hospital.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
- Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
- Reports safety hazards appropriate.
- Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
- Replenishes supplies.
- Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
- Maintain set quality standards when performing job duties.
- Work days, evenings or night shift as assigned.
- Ability to work on his / her own with normal supervision.
- Observes safety precautions at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
