Position Summary The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance for a rapidly growing fiber broadband organization.
This role ensures accurate and timely financial information, supports capital-intensive network expansion, and partners closely with leadership to enable data-driven decision-making.
The ideal candidate has experience in regulated, asset-heavy, or project-based environments (telecom, utilities, infrastructure, construction, or broadband).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Oversee general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and capitalized network costs Capital & Project Accounting Oversee accounting for fiber network builds, capital expenditures, and construction-in-progress (CIP) Ensure proper capitalization of labor, materials, and third-party construction costs Track grant funding, subsidies, and public-private partnership reporting (if applicable) Support ROI analysis for expansion projects and network investments Internal Controls & Compliance Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls Ensure compliance with tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting Coordinate annual financial audits and manage external auditors Support compliance related to debt covenants, grants, and financing agreements Cash Flow & Treasury Support Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Partner with CFO on financial modeling and strategic planning Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and revenue recognition Team Leadership Manage and mentor accounting staff Establish scalable accounting processes to support company growth Promote accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement Education / Experience :
