SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER (LBS1 SPECIAL EDUCATION)

Responsibilities Special Education Teacher (LBS1 Special Education) Full-Time Under the supervision of the Principal, the Teacher provides students with educational and behavioral programs that will enable them to reach their fullest educational potential, while rebuilding their self-esteem.

Position may supervise the Paraprofessional Aide. Minimum two years' teaching experience with students having special needs within a special education, hospital, or therapeutic setting is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of educational, child development, and classroom teaching / management theories. Good understanding of educational and therapeutic interventions REQUIRED.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION : A valid Illinois PEL - REQUIRED. Special Education - LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist) Unlimited certification - REQUIRED.
