Job descriptionObserve ESL classes and report insights to the ESL Program Coordinator Assist instructors and suggest improvements for classroom engagement Help prepare classrooms with updated materials and supply kits Assist with new session logistics (student registration, placement exams, payments) Send bilingual confirmation emails with class details and book links Follow up with students regarding attendance and withdrawals in Spanish Call students with incorrect contact information post-registration Plan and facilitate bi-weekly Coffee Hour conversation sessions Create bilingual discussion prompts and guide volunteers Brainstorm ideas for bilingual events and engagement initiatives Help maintain a student blog to encourage language use outside of class Draft and update bilingual email templates Enter attendance and track student progress in Excel Assist in preparing student certificates and teacher resources Update instructor pacing guides and keep materials organized in classroom Black Boxes Help create and send reminder messages for early registration Return calls, track outreach, and communicate with students in Spanish Translate documents and respond to language support requests Send class confirmations and update program databases Support program events, workshops, and teacher training logistics Bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written) Strong Spanish writing and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Friendly, adaptable, and committed to service Strong multitasking and client service skills Comfortable working in person at LaAmistad sites in Atlanta Time : 1520 hours / week (34 days / week) Term : AugustDecember 2025 (with option to extend into Spring 2026) Experience in adult ESL education, bilingual communication, and nonprofit programming Cultural competency and firsthand engagement with diverse communities Training in document management, outreach, and database tools Exposure to the nonprofit sector and education policy at the community level Opportunities to participate in community events and expand your professional network A rewarding, purpose-driven experience where your work makes a direct impact

Internship Summary
The ESL / Adult Education Intern supports LaAmistads English as a Second Language (ESL) Program for Latino adults. Interns contribute directly to a high-quality learning experience by supporting instruction, communication, engagement, and program logistics.
