Responsibilities
- Sell, build, and maintain a customer and sales base within the specified territory by engaging with customers through email, phone, fax, letters, and in-person visits.
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads from account lists, business directories, and other sources.
- Generate written quotes with supporting correspondence to qualified prospects and follow up until the order is placed or the opportunity is closed.
- Discuss current and future needs with existing customers and assess satisfaction to strengthen relationships.
- Introduce new products to clients and prospects using samples, catalogs, displays, or demonstrations, and emphasize salable features.
- Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales orders as necessary.
- Coordinate with warehouse regarding estimated delivery dates.
- Gather current marketplace information on pricing, products, and merchandising techniques for Sales Manager.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions with management input.
- Maintain technical knowledge by reviewing publications, attending workshops, and networking.
- Attend sales meetings and maintain open communication with the Sales Manager for scheduling.
- Maintain Outlook calendar, prepare call reports weekly, and keep vehicle / maintenance logs and expense accounts monthly.
- Cover customer service duties as needed in the absence of other personnel.
- Other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager.
Qualifications
Education and / or Experience : Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to two years of related sales or customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in the plastic industry is a plus.
