About the Role
We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our districtwide finance team. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth operations across accounts payable, reconciliations, and vendor communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all accounts payable functions, including issuing purchase orders, purchasing, tracking status, processing invoices, and vendor payments.
- Prepare and issue 1099 forms in compliance with regulations.
- Reconcile credit card statements and bank accounts monthly.
- Record journal entries for cash transactions and maintain accurate financial documentation.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and provide timely updates on payment status.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Maintain and organize digital and physical financial records in accordance with retention policies.
- Support budget tracking and reporting for departments and programs.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper coding and approval of expenditures.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits and financial reviews.
- Monitor and report on outstanding invoices, outstanding checks and aging reports.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience (experience in a school environment is a plus).Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Infinite Vision financial software is preferred.Experience in payroll / timekeeping is a plus.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task effectively.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Business or Accounting preferred.Why Join Us?
