Performs minor troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments of locks on doors, cabinets, desks, closets. Installs all air conditioning units. Services appliances, kitchen, and emergency equipment. Hooks up appliance and reports mechanical malfunctions to appropriate party for action. Exercises discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person. Maintains grounds in a presentable fashion by cutting, trimming, and edging. Basic knowledge of the following trades : carpentry, plumbing, painting, grounds keeping with gas powered tools, standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities. Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all maintenance, preventative maintenance, landscape maintenance, and repairs for all First Step House facilities
