Hand Finisher
With little supervision, perform hand finishing, deburring and inspection, using appropriate tooling as required. Position requires a positive attitude.
Cross training is mandatory in various disciplines within the hand finish area.
Hand Finisher Duties :
- Be familiar with all tools required for hand finish.
- Hand grinding various airfoil shapes to their finish contour and dimension.
- Chamfer, radius and grind parts to blueprints and work instructions.
- Read and understand basic diagrams and mechanical drawings.
- Clean and grit blast
- Read, interpret and execute work instructions.
- Follow all company policies including safety instructions.
- Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices.
Requirements
Hand Finisher Requirements :
- High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent experience.
- 2 years’ experience in component repair
- 2 years’ experience with inspection tooling and processes
- Familiar with FAA part 145 Repair Stations, understands and can apply regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated experience with Lean and 5S principle
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
