What you'll do...

We are seeking phenomenal Data scientists and Applied Machine Learning engineers to support our Personalization and Item Recommendation development efforts with our eCommerce team.

About Personalization @ eCommerce :

The Personalization team consists of platform, application engineers, scientists and product visionaries all working together to design, prototype and build technology-driven products and experiences that will change the future landscape of ecommerce.

We are focused on building the global service layer that will enable the end-to-end customer experience, from finding the product to delivering it to the customer.

This will span many markets, business models and form factors; therefore, we are looking for data scientists who will bring not only an abundance of experiences in technologies, but an abundant curiosity to innovate.

About Team :

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation.

From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.

com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do :

Lead the field in developing state of the art techniques in Machine Learning, Personalization and Recommendation Systems

Design and implement state of the art Machine Learning approaches

Work as a tech lead and define the roadmap for yourself and co-workers

Develop end-to-end ownership of major customer facing technologies

Develop data-driven models based on new data insights

Design, architect and iterate on data models

Iterate, challenge, and accelerate best practices in Personalization and Item Recommendations

What you'll bring :

Best practices in machine learning, personalization, recommendation systems, classification, etc.

Expertise in Machine Learning, Statistics, Personalization and Item Recommendation algorithms

Field experience in data science and building and evaluating large scale machine learning & deep learning models

Field experience putting machine learning models into production

Field experience designing and deploying highly scalable Recommenders Systems for Ecommerce companies

Field experiences with big data tools (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Etc.)

Cloud technologies such as GCP / Azure

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1 : Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field.

Option 2 : Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics related field.

Option 3 : 6 years' experience in an analytics or related field

Preferred Qualifications...

Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R, Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch), We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.

2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
