Robert Half is recruiting for an HR Manager / Consultant to lead our Paycom system rollout and oversee HR operations for our private equity owned client in the Construction industry. This role combines HR leadership with hands-on support for field teams, including hourly pay validation, compliance, and employee relations. this opportunity will be located onsite in Ontario, CA.
Responsibilities :
- Paycom Implementation experience ( ideal to have)
- Coordinate with payroll and operations to ensure accurate time tracking and job costing
- Train managers and employees on system use and mobile access
- Validate hourly pay data and troubleshoot discrepancies
HR Operations :
Support hiring, onboarding, terminations, and compliance for field and office staffManage employee relations, performance reviews, and policy updatesEnsure labor law compliance across job sites (e.g., wage and hour, safety)Maintain accurate records and support auditsRequirements :
5+ years in HR, preferably in construction or field-based industriesExperience with HRIS systems (Paycom preferred)Strong understanding of hourly payroll, timekeeping, and labor complianceExcellent communication and project management skillsBachelor’s degree in HR or related fieldBonus Skills
Experience with union labor or prevailing wage projectsFamiliarity with mobile time tracking and geofencing toolsMinimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably within construction or field-based industries.Proven expertise in using HRIS systems, with Paycom experience strongly preferred.Solid understanding of hourly payroll processes, timekeeping systems, and labor compliance.Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage projects effectively.Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.Familiarity with union labor or prevailing wage projects is a plus.Experience with mobile time tracking tools and geofencing systems is highly desirable.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate HR records.
