Compensation : $225K -$275K + Bonus Eligible (Varies by Location)

This is a remote role with a preference for candidates located in Denver, Oakland, Los Angeles, or Washington, DC . Compensation in other markets will align with regional benchmarks.

About the Opportunity :

This is a high-impact, senior-level position within the firms Energy & Natural Resources Business Unit , focusing on strategic legal counsel for mining sector clients. The role involves advising on complex corporate transactions , regulatory compliance , and industry-specific challenges .

Key Responsibilities :

Serve as lead counsel on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures , and project development for mining sector clients

Provide regulatory guidance , including environmental and permitting compliance

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams within the firm on cross-border and multijurisdictional matters

Mentor junior attorneys and support business development initiatives

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and emerging trends

Candidate Qualifications :

JD from an accredited law school with 7+ years of corporate law experience

Demonstrated background representing mining, natural resources, or energy clients

Licensed and in good standing with the state bar corresponding to the office location or remote base

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Proven ability to manage complex matters and deliver practical, business-focused legal solutions

Excellent judgment, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred Attributes :

Experience working within or alongside government agencies , environmental authorities, or regulatory bodies

Background in cross-border or international mining transactions

Community engagement and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
