Manager Slot Technical
Under the direction of Director Slot Technical, the Manager Slot Technical is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and technical performance of slot machines and related gaming equipment across the property. Ensures optimal machine functionality, regulatory compliance, and efficient service delivery through effective team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and leveraging external vendors. Drives innovation by aligning emerging technologies with enterprise goals and oversees vendor relationships to support seamless technical operations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Leads and directs oversight for daily operations, projects, and maintenance of slot machines, ensuring optimal uptime and performance through proactive diagnostics, system checks, and hardware / software maintenance in compliance with gaming regulations.
- Builds and leads high-performing technical team and sub-teams to successfully execute and deliver project outcomes. Oversees recruitment, development, and mentorship of staff, fostering a culture of excellence and ensuring high proficiency in slot machine repair, system troubleshooting, and project execution.
- Collaborates with supervisory and performance management teams to align project planning and execution strategies. Coordinates cross-functionally with internal departments, external contractors, vendors, and consultants to deliver slot expansions, system migrations, and infrastructure enhancements.
- Coordinates and develops the strategic planning and execution of both short- and long-term initiatives related to slot machines, slot systems, and emerging slot technologies, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and industry technological advancement.
- Implements and maintains data-driven performance tracking, using structured data collection and analytics tools to monitor key milestones, project dependencies, key performance metrics, and generate actionable reports for the department and leadership.
- Conducts routine technical inspections and audits of all technical storage and inventory areas, optimizing layout and logistics to ensure rapid access to critical slot components and minimizing downtime.
- Identifies and addresses gaming compliance issues to ensure the department consistently meets all regulatory requirements. Facilitates timely responses and implements corrective measures to maintain operational integrity.
- Engages regularly with technical vendors to communicate clear business requirements and address service or hardware concerns. Facilitates collaborative problem-solving to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues to ensure service continuity.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.
Education, Experience And Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field required.Minimum five (5) years of large-scale slot operations management, slot gaming floor experience (e.g. slot machine set-up, repair, and online slot system) required.Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience required.Related, relevant, and / or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA)
Must possess a strong understanding of slot mathematics, slot performance management and slot progressive management with proven positive results.Must have an understanding of slot operations and its relation to the organization.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.Experience in hiring, training and developing staff required.Must be able to communicate verbally, read and write in English; second language skills preferred.Strong mathematical skills required.Demonstrated maturity and poise; ability to employ perfect discretion in sensitive situations.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.Must be self-motivated, friendly and confident.Must be mechanically inclined with demonstrated hands-on experience.Licenses, Certifications And Registrations
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.Authorized Driver : Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Environment
Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and / or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.Sedentary work : involves sitting most of the time.
