We are Pompette, a 50-seat restaurant located in the heart of Bucktown at the corner of Armitage and Damen. During brunch the restaurant has Café service offering breakfast and lunch items. From late afternoon, the restaurant will be serving a small-plate menu to accompany the wine-focused beverage program. We are looking for highly motivated, excited, and creative individuals who would like to grow with the company.
This job is ideal for someone who wants to develop their skills in dish creation and menu development. We change the menu frequently and promote creativity and new ideas.
Sous Chef Responsibilities :
- Work well with others and foster a team environment
- Report directly to the Executive Chef
- Maintain an open line of communication and bring up concerns or issues as they arise
- Put dishes on the menu that follow seasonality
- Oversee quality control of all food production and execution
- Take inventory
- Place orders
- Butcher and portion meats
- Able to work Brunch (Saturday & Sunday)
- Able to work a garde mange, saute, and grill station
- Execute family meal
- Ensure all health and safety standards are being followed
