Description

The Mrs. Fields Gifting, Salt Lake City, UT facility is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position includes performing routing maintenance and repair of mechanical and manufacturing machinery and parts of the facility.

Position Summary :

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair of manufacturing machinery with TPM methodology, and various repairs of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Conduct equipment management, preventative, and predictive maintenance
• Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
• Change filters, replace belts, clean condenser, and lubricate components
• Examines machines to diagnose trouble, dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation
• Inspect and test equipment
• Assist in remodeling projects and major overhauls of facilities and mechanical equipment
• Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation.
• Collaborates well with operators and floor leadership

Qualifications

Core Competencies :

• Basic knowledge of mechanical principles, electrical systems, and pneumatics
• Knowledge of mechanical / electrical systems using schematics and technical drawings
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to communicate with employees of all levels of organization
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office : Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and copper soldering
• Some MIG welding experience is preferred
• 5S oriented
• Lock out tag out policy familiarity

Minimum Qualifications :

• At least 2 years of manufacturing maintenance experience
• Food manufacturing and GMP experience, preferred.
• Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Job Environment and Conditions :

Working conditions are indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Must be able to withstand temperatures below zero degrees for moderate periods of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position requires a lot of walking and standing.

The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
