Position Specific Responsibilities The Network Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining local area lab-scale networks.
They are responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to understand their specific needs and requirements for the bespoke rack system.
- This includes, but is not limited to, designing and architecting the hardware components, servers, storage devices and specialized AI / ML accelerators;
- ensuring scalability, reliability and optimal performance; utilizing IaC principles to define, provision and manage the rack system;
- writing infrastructure code to automate the deployment and configuration of hardware and software components; selecting and procuring hardware components based on the design specifications;
conducting thorough testing of the system to verify functionality, performance and security; and creating technical documentation.
Summary of Responsibilities Responsible for high-level network planning, design, implementation, and optimization. Essential Functions
- Assesses business and application requirements.
- Develops strategies and direction for network infrastructure solutions using current and emerging technologies.
- Design, test and inspect network systems.
- Monitors network performance, ensures capacity planning is performed, and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborates with team on network and security related projects, initiatives and compliance requirements.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum Experience Six (6) years of experience in network analysis required. Every 30 hours of related college coursework can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
Preferred Experience Three (3) years of experience in designing and implementing custom rack systems preferred.
US Secret Clearance and TS-SCI eligible, preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing custom rack systems.
- Familiarity with networking protocols, hardware components (., switches, routers), and computer hardware (CPUs, GPUs, TPUs).
- Proficiency in RHEL administration.
- Knowledge of AI / ML software frameworks and libraries.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
