JOB DESCRIPTION
Description : Field Service Technician
- Effectively manage the field process of implementing and maintaining an electronic building system.
- Test, install, program, and troubleshoot a complex building wide alarm system.
- Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm, integrated security systems and other related building system products at customer sites.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills by consistently communicating with co-workers and customers to ensure customer satisfaction
- Perform administrative duties as necessary in relation to the position in a timely and organized manner.
- Travel within the Chicago-Metro area and occasionally out of state.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have an intermediate to expert level grasp of electronics and computer software.
- Must have excellent communication and people skills; possess the ability to work independently or collaboratively with others without immediate supervision.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Basic proficiency in web portal management and system vendor programming software.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Ohm’s Law with ability to troubleshoot for proper operation.
- In depth understanding of networking principals and internet protocol communication
Certificate and Licenses :
- NICET II Fire Alarm Systems Certification preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain a PERC card is required.
- Valid Driver’s License and a driving record that meets company requirements.
Work Environment Travel Information
- Company Car and tools will be provided
- All travel will be based from the candidate's home
- Chicagoland Travel - Some out of State
- Typical Hours : 7-3 : 30pm Occasional Weekends :
- Approx. 5 Weekends / year & On Call
- Gas Card provided
- Inspection Team is 12 people
- Some OT but not to be expected
