Job descriptionLocation : South Madison Float - 3201 Latham Drive, Madison, WI Schedule : Full-time (40 hours / week), Part Year Pay : $16.21-16.70 / hour (based on education) Part Year includes built-in summer break, 2 weeks winter break, and spring break Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Generous Paid Time Off & Holidays 403(b) Retirement with Employer Match (after 2 years) Company-Paid Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability Flexible Spending Accounts Public Service Loan Forgiveness Eligible Employer School calendar schedule with built-in seasonal breaks Collaborative partnership with experienced classroom teachers Flexible scheduling to meet program needs Comprehensive professional development : ongoing coaching, paid continuing education, and credential support Career advancement pathways with organizational training support (Aide I to Aide II progression) Age : Minimum 18 years old Education : High school diploma or GED Experience : Working with children ages 3-5, preferably in licensed childcare setting Certifications : Adult, Child, and Infant CPR within 6 months; basic first aid knowledge Professional Competencies : Excellent communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, flexibility for varying schedules Language : Bilingual in Hmong and / or Spanish preferred Additional : Experience with low-income, multicultural families preferred Completion of Intro to Child Care Profession (or equivalent ECE course) required by Wisconsin licensing OR must complete within 6 months Completion of Intro to Child Care Profession (or equivalent ECE course) Documentation of enrollment and completion of minimum one course toward Preschool Credential OR CDA Assist in developing and implementing activities that promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Support programming for children ages 3-5 in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards Ensure compliance with Wisconsin Child Care Licensing, City of Madison Accreditation, and Wisconsin Young Star standards Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community members Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment Support multicultural and multilingual learning experiences Assist with daily classroom routines and activities Work collaboratively under the direction of the Classroom Teacher Actively dismantling systemic barriers in early childhood education Intentionally building a workplace reflecting our community's rich diversity Celebrating multilingual capabilities and cultural responsiveness Supporting career development from entry-level to advanced positions
