Position Summary
United Petfood Producers USA Inc. is looking for a Weekend Packaging Technician to join our Packaging Team. This role is designed for weekend warriors who want to work two 12-hour shifts (Saturday & Sunday, 6 : 00 AM – 6 : 00 PM) and receive 32 hours of pay for 24 hours worked.
Packaging Technicians are responsible for safely and efficiently operating packaging equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring product is packaged to company and customer standards.
Schedule & Pay
Work Hours : Saturdays & Sundays, 6 : 00 AM – 6 : 00 PM
Hours Worked : 24 hours / week
Hours Paid : 32 hours / week
Key Responsibilities
Set up, start up, and operate packaging equipment according to production schedule.
Monitor equipment and make adjustments, changeovers, or minor repairs as needed.
Perform sanitation tasks to maintain quality and food safety standards.
Operate bin discharge and complete rework as necessary.
Document packaging activities and materials usage in RedZone system.
Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure accuracy of packaging.
Clean, disassemble, and reassemble equipment for inspections or deep cleans.
Actively follow and promote safety procedures and GMP practices.
Support a safe and compliant workplace by reporting safety, quality, or food safety issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Workplace Safety
Complete safety documentation and participate in mandatory training.
Report any safety issues, near misses, or injuries immediately.
Quality & Food Safety
Maintain and document quality and food safety requirements.
Participate in training and uphold BRC system integrity.
Take immediate action to address quality or food safety concerns.
Required Qualifications
Ability to work in a production environment with exposure to noise, heat, cold, odors, dust, and chemicals.
Ability to stand for 12-hour shifts.
Ability to lift 35–50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, pushing / pulling.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand tools.
Ability to learn computerized equipment and operator interfaces.
Desired Qualifications
Previous packaging or production experience (food or beverage manufacturing preferred).
Familiarity with packaging systems and conveying equipment.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
