The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is seeking a dedicated and collaborative professional to fill the Coordinator, Occupational / Physical Therapy role.
Under the direction of the Director of Occupational / Physical Therapy, this position is responsible for coordinating Occupational and Physical Therapy services for qualified students in accordance to their IEP.
The position ensures the continuity and integrity of services to the student and provides for any other arrangements essential to therapy services.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Processes all requests for occupational / physical therapy and coordinates services, staff assignments, and other needs to ensure students are receiving the allotted therapy services
Evaluate data provided and assign therapist as appropriate
Assists Director in coordinating services for both public and non-public schools
Works with teachers, parents, therapists, and students in resolving any items of concern, as well as with schools and departments to ensure services
Maintains accurate records for the occupational / physical therapy services
Prepares occupational / physical therapy forms and other logistics for the schools
Assists the Director in ensuring that students who qualify for occupational / physical therapy services are properly placed with services
Assists the Director in setting up the use of testing protocols
Assists the Director with coordinating and implementing the standards for the quality of Evaluation Team Reports and Individualized Education Plans
Manages and ensures that administrative tasks are completed smoothly and in a timely manner
Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting practices and procedures in order to ensure the execution of services for all students
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of lesser education and relevant experience
Experience in the coordination of home instruction program services at the district level
Experience working with parents and children in school settings.
Possess leadership qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with District and community resources
Proficient computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office
Resilience and the ability to manage the details, deadlines, and rigorous project evaluation are required to meet goals

Demonstrated ability to provide great customer service in a multi-ethnic / culturally diverse environment and to think and act in ways that respect ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, religious, and language diversity

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Capable of handling challenging situations and people, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive district, school, or personnel matters
