We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in New York, New York. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a vital role in managing and optimizing the collection of outstanding accounts. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in commercial collections and billing processes, ensuring efficient and detail-oriented communication with clients. Responsibilities include managing and monitoring overdue accounts to ensure timely payments from commercial clients, utilizing credit and collection strategies to recover outstanding balances while maintaining positive client relationships, coordinating with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate account statements, developing and implementing collection processes that align with company policies and industry standards, preparing detailed reports on account statuses and collection efforts for management review, communicating clearly with clients to negotiate payment plans and address payment delays, analyzing customer payment histories and creditworthiness to recommend appropriate collection approaches, maintaining accurate records of all collection activities in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, identifying trends in overdue accounts and proposing solutions to mitigate future issues, and collaborating with the finance department to improve overall billing and collection efficiency.

Requirements include proven experience in commercial collections and credit management, a strong understanding of collection processes and billing systems, excellent communication and negotiation skills, the ability to analyze payment histories and assess client creditworthiness, proficiency in preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records, familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to collections, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and clients.
