Job description

Department: Library Services Department Organizational Unit: Library Services Library Administration

Position Type: Permanent Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

CLOSE DATE: 04/09/2026

$21.94 to $24.13 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central/Catherine Schweinsberg Rood Central Library/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced paraprofessional work planning, organizing, and coordinating projects for the Library Services, Finance, and Facilities sections. Work includes reviewing, verifying, and processing requisitions, facility work orders, change orders, and Requests for Proposal (RFPs); obtaining quotes and bids for library maintenance purchases; monitoring departmental bids and proposals; researching and following up on vendor complaints; and performing other facilities and finance-related projects, including but not limited to, assistance in budget development, meeting with vendors, and walking project worksites for the department.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Contracts Management, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience utilizing SAP, Microsoft Excel, budget development is preferred. Experience working with Brevard County Purchasing Policies and Procedures is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain before employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. ln the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
