Job Description

The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of accounting processes. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, construction cost tracking, and strong analytical skills. You will assist with day-to-day accounting activities, daily cash reconciliation,  monthly close processes, job costing, and compliance reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
• Lead the monthly and year-end close process
• Maintain and reconcile job cost reports and construction project budgets
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Review subcontractor billings and lien waivers for accuracy and compliance
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Track fixed assets and depreciation schedules
• Assist with preparing financial statements and reports
• Support annual audits and compliance reporting (e.g., W-9s, 1099s, insurance certificates)
• Maintain documentation for accounting policies and procedures
• Collaborate with project managers and the operations team to ensure financial accuracy on construction projects
