Purchasing Representative
BGSF has partnered with a growing company in West Houston and is seeking a Purchasing Representative to join their team. This position will be responsible for managing all purchase orders and working directly with vendors to resolve all issues.
Additional responsibilities will include the following :
- Review vendor's Items for effective use in operations
- Review vendor's performance, fulfillment, and cost control
- Request for Quotes from current and potential vendors
- Verify purchase requests by comparing items to the master list, clarifying unclear items, and recommending alternatives where needed.
- Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.
- Obtain substitute item specifications and prices, as needed.
- Ensure all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolve shipments in error with suppliers.
- Authorize payment for purchases following department protocol and procedures.
- Maintains department files.
- Communicates changes with department peers.
- Price large stock / project requests, analyze offer, and present to requesting department for final approval.
- Maintain and improve relationships with all parties.
- Additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of hands-on experience in purchasing, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
