Education : Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education with 18 ECE credits, or related degree with 18 ECE creditsCertification : DPI certification in ECE or related field OR ability to become DPI certifiedRegistry Requirements : Must secure Registry certificate within 90 daysExperience :Minimum 1 year in early care education setting
Preschool teaching experience (supervised student teaching, licensed program experience, or public school preschool)Experience working with low-income familiesProfessional Competencies : Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, alignment with agency missionLanguage : Bilingual in Hmong and / or Spanish preferredAdditional Requirements : Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with adequate insuranceWHAT YOU'LL DO
As a 4K Teacher, you'll prepare children for educational success by :
Providing a safe, nurturing environment that encourages social, emotional, physical, and cognitive developmentPlanning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for children in low-income, at-risk environmentsEnsuring delivery of comprehensive child development services including education, health, nutrition, and family supportFollowing Head Start Performance Standards, Dane County Parent Council work plans, and accreditation criteriaProviding supervision and performance feedback for reporting staffBuilding positive relationships with parents, children, coworkers, and community partnersConnecting families with necessary support services and referralsPromoting parent involvement in their children's educationMaintaining compliance with licensing requirements and program standardsSupporting school readiness and kindergarten transition preparationWHO WE ARE
