Role Summary
The Network Administrator is responsible for managing the network infrastructure (Cisco Meraki), including cloud services (Azure), phone systems, and key applications. The role involves providing technical support to the IT team, ensuring network security through firewalls, VPNs, and access controls, and conducting risk assessments to prevent data breaches. Documentation, hardware / software knowledge, and supporting strategic initiatives are also key responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Azure Virtual Servers and upgrade LAN, MAN, WAN networks, including architecture and design.
- Configure networks based on requirements and perform testing.
- Provide support for software and hardware issues reported by users.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, mail filters, VPN tunnels, and network security.
- Maintain expertise in routers, switches, security appliances, and operating systems.
- Monitor and evaluate software / hardware efficiency.
- Coordinate with network vendors and support teams.
- Train team members on technology use.
- Install OS, software, and hardware updates, coordinating with third parties as needed.
- Manage network security and address vulnerabilities.
- Assist in installing workstations and printers.
- Manage user accounts, access, and security configurations.
- Monitor security applications and threats.
- Maintain intrusion detection / prevention systems.
- Support specialty applications and data interfaces.
- Report on hardware / software status and vendor contracts.
- Manage Active Directory and Cisco Unified Communications, including Unity Voice Mail.
- Ensure all systems are patched and configured for optimal performance.
- Handle sensitive patient PHI with confidentiality, adhering to legal and organizational standards.
Qualifications
High School diploma + 6 years related experience, OR an IT-related Associate's degree + 4 years, OR a Bachelor's degree + 2 years. Cisco Meraki and / or Microsoft Certifications are preferred.
Physical & Working Conditions
Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, work in various environments, and have visual and auditory acuity for detailed work and communication.
