The Vice President of Default Management and Fraud reports to the Chief Credit and Portfolio Officer and is responsible for the overall management and strategy development of the collections, loss mitigation and fraud teams.

This position serves as part of the credit union’s leadership team and is expected to demonstrate strong leadership in support of the credit union’s vision and mission, ensuring that members are provided with exceptional service.

RESPONSIBLE AND ACCOUNTABLE FOR :

• Leads team members in the collections, loss mitigation and fraud departments ensures adequate staffing, training and development is in place to optimize performance tied to credit union goals
• Develops and implements collection, loss mitigation and fraud strategies determine workflows, assignments and leverages third parties to optimize results and efficiencies
• Develops and documents all processes and procedures - ensure all appropriate controls are in place and tracked within NCUA and credit union standards
• Manages third party relationships to ensure accountability and optimal performance
• Leverages data and creates reporting to effectively manage Default Management and Fraud - provides concise, relevant, executive-level reports to the Chief Credit and Portfolio Officer
• Participating in internal audit and NCUA reviews

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

• Leadership and management skills to motivate, develop, coach and drive performance in a collaborative environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state collection laws and regulations
• Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills ability to negotiate complex situations
• Ability to interpret and implement regulatory and governmental agency laws and / or guidance
• Advanced analytical skills apply data and information to develop strategies, solve problems, and measure and evaluate key performance metrics
• Ability to work in a fast paced and collaborative environment
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Experience : Approximately 10+ years in a strategic lending, risk, and / or collections role within the financial industry
