Position Summary
The Vegetation Program Manager oversees Vegetation Managementoperations, ensuring electric system safety, reliability and regulatorycompliance with state and federal rules. The incumbent may also serveas a subject matter expert and provide guidance and education orinfluence leaders in the industry (PG&E, other utilities or otherdecision makers) on regulatory issues and program strategies. Leadsteam within a specific geographic area of operations, including, directoversight of inspection and tree contractor personnel. Works withcustomers and public entities to monitor and manage vegetationproximity to PG&E assets to contribute to system reliability and safetyobjectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Contributes to implementation and creation of new concepts, processes and ideas to further vegetation management program advancement.
- Oversees in-depth quality assurance final reviews and contract drafts.
- Works with managers and directors across lines of business to influence decisions and meet goals.
- Communicates complex ideas to diverse audiences (PG&E, other utilities, public entities, community organizations, etc.), using a variety of media. Provides guidance around complex industry regulatory and compliance environment and considerations.
- Participates in public hearings, legal proceedings or similar in support of the subject matter expert; may be the subject matter expert.
- Develops budget forecasts and business cases.
- Reviews and funding and purchase orders associated with complex projects for supervisor approval.
- Manages multiple programs and projects that support other lines of business.
- Works independently to solve moderate to highly complex problems and takes new perspectives on existing solutions, plans, and goals.
- Leads cross functional projects or teams.
- Provides direction on overall program plan and goals within a specific functional area of operations. Delivers on the program implementation plan.
- Develops new and ad-hoc reports, summarizes findings and recommendations, and provides business insight to various levels of management.
