How you will make an impact
The Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services, including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation.
Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projectsDrafts legal documents, including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, files motions and pleadings according to judicial proceduresResearches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneysInterviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statementsPrepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other itemsAssists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearingsDevelops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific casesPerforms other related duties as assignedHow you will be a great fit
Must have well-developed communication skills, both written and verbalMust be neat, organized, and accurateMust be able to work well under pressure and be comfortable in a multicultural settingMust be able to multitask and set prioritiesMust be able to maintain confidentialityHave respectful, open, unbiased, and accepting attitude toward clients and their familiesBachelor's degree is required. Paralegal certificate is preferred. Two years of experience as an immigration paralegal, especially asylum experience, is preferredMust have excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English and SpanishEEO statement
