Job Summary

Join our innovative team as the Senior Manager of Business Development, where you'll drive global sales and business development strategies for our pioneering Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) Technologies division. In this vital role, reporting to the Senior Director for Sales and Business Development, you will be instrumental in propelling the growth of our portfolio by identifying and seizing strategic partnerships and business opportunities in the rapidly evolving field of cell and gene therapies.

This position requires collaboration with various cross-functional teams, including Marketing, R&D, Product Management, Legal, and Field Application Specialists, to craft and implement business strategies that nurture innovation and accelerate growth, aligning with our overarching business goals and market demands. Work Arrangement : This position can be performed remotely with a commitment to travel up to 40% (domestic and international) to engage with our U.S. headquarters located in Lake Zurich, IL.

Compensation : The base salary range is $163,000 - $182,000, and you will be eligible for an annual bonus plan targeted at 14% of your base salary. Final salary determination will consider various factors, including experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of business strategies to enhance the Cell & Gene Therapies Technologies division through partnerships, collaborations, and licensing agreements with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and nurture new business opportunities, including partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, academic institutions, Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs), and other key players in the gene and cell therapy sectors.
  • Oversee the negotiation and structuring of complex agreements, aiming to secure favorable terms that align with organizational objectives while mitigating risks and prioritizing stakeholder interests.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes within the cell and gene therapy domain to discover new opportunities and challenges. Provide actionable insights to senior leadership for informed strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (R&D, product management, legal, commercial, marketing) to evaluate scientific and technical feasibility, drive business objectives, and manage timelines and deliverables for partnerships.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or a related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 8 or more years of experience in sales and / or business development.
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in the Cell and Gene Therapies industry, with solid insight into the market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Proficient in Salesforce CRM and business analytics.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%, including international travel.
