Regional Manager - CTX Central
Position : Regional Manager (RM)
Reports to : Regional Director (RD)

Purpose : Leads a team of club managers in a designated region to ensure compliance with Excel and Planet Fitness policies, practices, and objectives. Responsible for club-to-club operations, driving exceptional member experiences through +1% member service, and achieving financial success.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead the Senior General Manager (SGM), General Manager (GM), and Assistant Manager (AM) of each location in an assigned region, in planning and implementing strategies to attract and keep members based on Excel Core Values.
- Create / Utilize club reporting (Team Performance Tracker) and platforms to align with company metrics and KPI (Key Performance Indicators) expectations.
- Audit Excel Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure clubs are meeting or exceeding preset goals.
- Conduct regular club inspections to ensure equipment, facilities, and team players meet safety, cleanliness, friendliness, and Excel Fitness standards.
- Inspect each club's structural and visual appearance (from the parking lot to the interior) to ensure company standards are met and report needed repairs / updates to the RD.
- Ensure all locations follow the prescribed marketing and pricing promotions.
- Hold weekly calls with GM / AM to cover important updates and answer questions.
- Support club management to ensure club operations are running and all work shifts are covered.
- Maintain availability while off shift to be a direct contact for club management to help field operational questions and / or emergencies.
- Fill in (or ensure appropriate coverage) for the GM or AM when they are unavailable to work as scheduled.
- Required to be available during company Peak Season / Sale Expirations when needed to support club needs.
- Communicate with members and create an elevated level of member service.
- Identify hiring and training needs by ensuring that the GM, AM, and all team players meet Excel standards.
- Train and implement Excel and / or PF Corporate systems, procedures, and updates with the GM / AM (or in place of the GM / AM if required). This could include scheduling group training sessions and meetings with the team off-site or inside the club.
- Lead by example and ensure all club managers adhere to and enforce company policies and guidelines and promptly address actions that do not comply with set practices.
- Collaborate with RD, GM, AM, and HR when conducting team player counseling, corrective actions, and terminations.
- Guide club managers to cultivate the next generation of leaders within the club by proactively identifying the strengths and training opportunities for each team player.
- Encourage personal and professional development of club management by holding regular discussions to align individual goals with their Excel career path.
- Develop GMs to prepare them for a future RM role through cross-training, delegation, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback.
- Conduct Team Player Assessments (TPAs) and competency evaluations for GMs biannually.
- Hold club managers accountable for meeting company standards, audit daily paperwork, resolve escalated member issues, and follow through with necessary coaching and performance management.
- Audit / Approve club inventory and guide GM on placing necessary orders.
- Confirm all locations in an assigned region are meeting their budgetary hours.
- Audit / Approve all HRIS items, including but not limited to payroll items, timecards, bonus submissions, time off requests, team player onboarding and offboarding tasks, and job requisition postings.
- Authorize expenditures and refunds.
- Submit, audit, and approve all BMO expenses.
- Work closely with RDs to set yearly and quarterly budgets for locations and audit thereafter to ensure locations are meeting budget guidelines.
- Partner with the local communities by attending chamber events, expos, Boys and Girls Club events, and other general community service events to promote Planet Fitness.
- Represent Excel Fitness at regional events, new club openings and conferences to "Build Communities through Fitness" with key stakeholders.
- Work with RD in opening new clubs in the region by helping set up and oversee presale activities to support a successful club opening.
- Work with the Construction Department on new club builds and assist in providing updates on the construction of clubs, as well as be a liaison between the department and General Contractor as requested.
- Partner with the Construction department on remodel and renovation schedules, member updates, status of construction to help ensure remodel meets Excel / PF means and methods.
- Help oversee club re-equips of new equipment and sale / transfer / donation of used equipment.
- Meet with assigned Maintenance Technician weekly to review club needs and verify work orders for the region are completed in a timely manner on Service Channel, per SLA (Service Level Agreement) and Excel Fitness standards.
Qualifications :
HS diploma or equivalent required.At least 2 years equivalent management experience required. Prefer prior experience as a General Manager with Excel Fitness.CPR / AED certification required. Uncertified team players will be given the opportunity to complete CPR / AED training within the first 30 days of employment.Proven ability to lead, encourage, develop, and supervise the work of others.Familiar with Excel mission, values, vision, and culture, as well as the Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements, and KPI metrics.Demonstrated the ability, confidence, and leadership to manage a team.Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.Must be team oriented, motivated, and well organized.Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively.Must have the ability to handle difficult situations and deal with sensitive and highly confidential information.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; DataTrak; Workday; Service Channel; and other related applications.Supervisory Responsibility : This position will manage a team of Senior General Managers, General Managers, Maintenance Techs, and a territory that may include up to 12 locations in an assigned area. Responsible for the performance management and hiring of General Managers. Will ensure the team can adequately exhibit and maintain all Excel values, principles, and duties, as well as meet established club performance metrics.
Budgetary Responsibility : This position will be authorized to spend up to $1,250 in club-related expenses or maintenance per incident unless a higher amount is approved by RD. Maintain oversight of the clubs discretionary bonuses to Team Players.
Work Environment : This job operates in a fitness club environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, fax machines and phones. The noise level in the club environment may be loud on a regular basis.

Under the Regulations, Part 541, an exempt Team Player is one who is not entitled to the minimum wage or overtime pay protections of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Standard work days and hours are Monday through Friday, between 9 : 00 a.m. and 9 : 00 p.m. This position may work outside of the established work schedule to fill in for club managers and any Team Player shifts to ensure the club is open and running smoothly. Work hours may include the weekends and / or overnights as needed and are subject to change at any time depending on business needs.
Travel : Up to 50% travel is expected for this position to attend club visits, employee events, trainings, and conferences. Overnight trips may be necessary if traveling outside of the local area.
