We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Federal Business Unit as a Senior Program Director – Civil Works. This position will sit in our Calverton, MD, Alexandria, VA, Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX or Dallas, TX Offices.

About You:

In this Senior Program Director role, you will develop our federal water resources business development strategy, across the federal agency portfolio. You will lead Project Managers in the capture and delivery of civil works/water resources and resilience projects for the United States Army Corp of Engineers and other federal agencies. You will be an integral team member for managing and growing the AtkinsRéalis federal business.

How your experience will contribute to the team:

  • Under general direction, manages complex and unconventional technology or delivery systems for a single significant project within a defined technical specialty.
  • Typical projects might include design and construction of Civil Works facilities focused on water resource development programs that include flood risk management, navigation, recreation, dams, levees, drainage, and infrastructure and environmental stewardship.
  • Management assignments typically involve large, multi-discipline project assignments, including unconventional or complex projects made up several highly sophisticated and specialized technical components generating annual net revenue between $2 million to $10+ million annually and requires specialized expertise.
  • Projects typically involve high levels of Federal Civil Works client involvement and complex technical requirements.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and technical guidance to Project Managers within assigned areas of responsibility to ensure that quality management and technical services are provided to clients and that performance targets are met.
  • You will also assist with cost proposals, coordinate scopes of work, be responsible for the project financials, and assist with construction phase services as appropriate.
  • Builds and develops client relationships and seeks opportunities for repeat business and/or new opportunities.
  • Mentors and coaches other Project Managers associated with project and technical delivery.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in field(s) of practice, generally Architecture or Engineering. Graduate degree preferred. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus.
  • This level may be achieved by technical professionals or managers with fifteen years of experience since B.S. or fourteen years since M.S., with at least two of these years in the Senior Program Manager position with highly complex project management responsibility,
  • 15 yrs. minimum experience supporting Civil Works projects and clients.
  • Experience in managing/dealing directly with DOD clients.
  • Experience handling projects in the range of $2M-$10M+ IDIQ contracts $50m-$100m.
  • Alternate Delivery (DB) familiarity and experience desirable.

SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills, public speaking, and persuasive ability; very strong financial management, team management, and leadership skills; ability to manage and coordinate efforts of various projects to produce budgeted profits and overall results.
  • Possesses specific expertise to the extent that the individual is regarded as a regional or potentially national expert in a specific discipline, contract delivery method, particular type of project, planning process, design method, or modelling technique.
  • Personal computer proficiency is required.
  • Interested in candidates that have solid relationships with Federal Agencies, primarily with DoD. And specifically, with USACE; experience with OFA’s also acceptable (AFCEC, NAVFAC, NGB, etc.), including both HQ and Regional involvements.
  • Interaction and experience with local stakeholders required.
  • Strong design and delivery experience required.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

  • Professional registration in field of practice is required, if available, e.g., P.E., A.I.C.P., R.A., or R.L.A. Certification as a "Project Management Professional" (PMP) or "Certified Construction Manager" (CCM) required within one year of assuming this position.
