We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a multi-state workforce. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in payroll systems and procedures, coupled with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining compliance with all payroll-related regulations. This position is based in Newark, New Jersey.
Responsibilities :
- Process full-cycle payroll for over 500 employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Utilize ADP Workforce Now to manage payroll operations, including data entry, updates, and reporting.
- Perform reconciliations to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate payroll records.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address payroll-related inquiries and ensure smooth communication.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal payroll regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements.
- Manage employee data, including onboarding, changes, and terminations, within the payroll system.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to support financial planning and audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information and uphold security protocols.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to streamline payroll operations.
- Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing for multi-state organizations.
- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to handle payroll for over 500 employees accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working in nonprofit or grant-funded environments is a plus.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
