Description

The primary role of the Clinical Research Coordinator is the organization and implementation of a research study. The research coordination will be responsible for all aspects of clinical trial coordination including : subject recruitment, detailed data entry, subject visits and follow-up, biospecimen collection and processing, regulatory management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform required research activities per protocol and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (Scheduling subject visits within the appropriate window, ensuring all tests and assessments at each visit are performed, reporting adverse events and ensuring review and appropriate follow-up by investigator, administering drug treatment and / or procedures and monitoring patient care and treatment side effects in concert with investigators, detailed documentation of study activities).
  • Screen, recruit and retain potential study participants. Obtain informed consent at multiple study sites within the Penn Health System (included approaching potential subjects in the office or speaking to them by phone, reviewing their medication records and discussing with investigators, asking prescreening eligibility questions, etc.)
  • Collect and report timely, valid accurate data. Create and maintain clinical trial databases. Respond to data queries.

Maintain subject files and regulatory files per GCP.

Assist in preparation of protocols, informed consents, data collection forms and advertisements for regulatory approval.

Coordinate study start-up activities.

  • Collect and process biospecimens. Assist with biospecimen tracking and management.
  • Be actively involved in planning and implementation of patient recruitment into studies
  • Assist investigators with intellectual and quality improvement tasks as needed
  • Interface with regulatory authorities and sponsors. Attend investigator meetings for clinical research trials. Organize and participate in site visits, both initiation and otherwise.

Prepare and host both internal and external auditing and monitoring activities.

Qualifications

CRC A : Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • Applicants must be well-organized and able to flexibly manage diverse responsibilities.
  • Applicant must work well as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with computers / technology, especially basic programs such as MS Word, Excel, etc.
  • Experience with REDCap highly preferred.
  • A strong interest in women's health and the field of family planning is warmly encouraged and should be demonstrated in your application.

Position requires a highly motivated, friendly, and articulate individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The candidate should possess the ability to work independently and also as part of a team. Strong planning, organizational and prioritizing capabilities along with problem solving skills desired.

Position is contingent upon continued funding.
