Start Early Illinois Executive Director Support

This position will manage a portfolio of support services on behalf of Start Early Illinois and the Illinois Executive Director. They will oversee the calendaring, expense reports, and operations needed to deliver effective services, resources, and tools for Start Early Illinois, and also serve as a liaison to other divisions under Start Early Illinois and external partners when appropriate. This position is Chicago-based and hybrid, with in-office expectations 2-3 times per week at our headquarters located at 1 N. Dearborn.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, Illinois, you will :

  • Manage the Executive Director of Illinois calendar and operations needed to support effective implementation of services, grants, and stakeholder management support. Assist with the internal coordination of Start Early staff supporting EHSN, IPT, REVAL, HVDN and PLN.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the planning, execution, and monitoring of project contracts, workplans, timelines, and priorities for internal and external partners, utilizing operational tools such as the MS Office suite, Smartsheet, Salesforce and Concur.
  • Provide high-level support to project directors and cross-functional teams in overall strategy, operations, and management.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support initiatives, planning, facilitating, supporting meetings and events.
  • Develop written and visual materials to articulate the scope, impact, and details of Start Early's strategy in a variety of formats (e.g., decks, memos, grant reports, fact sheets, etc.) for internal and external audiences.
  • Proactive management of projects to ensure effective stewardship of various initiatives across Start Early Illinois.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's in Social Sciences, Communications, or related degree.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience required. 2+ years of executive support.
  • Passion for closing the opportunity gap and understanding of the challenges involved in this work. Commitment to staying proximate to the problems we are working to solve for Illinois children and families.
  • Deep commitment to and experience in advancing diversity, racial equity, and inclusion into organizational routines and practices is required.
  • Experience in operations, skilled in managing processes well to ensure a positive experience for stakeholders involved.
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect.
  • Excellence in working and communicating with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds internally and externally.
  • Track record of strategic thinking. Ability to see the 'big picture,' synthesizing an array of information and identifying paths forward.
  • Comfort and experience in handling risk and uncertainty to move work forward.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to be nimble, changing priorities in response to shifts in the work.
  • Knowledge of and / or ability to quickly learn, and utilize operational systems (e.g., MS Office suite, Smartsheet, Salesforce, Workday Adaptive Planning, etc.)

    Base Annual Salary : $62,500-$68,000

    As of the time of this posting, this is the expected base annual salary range. The base annual salary will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, as well as business needs and limitations.
