Journey Programs Coordinator
WellQuest Living invites applicants for the Journey Programs Coordinator role. The Coordinator works with the Director of Activities, care staff, and volunteers to plan engaging, resident-focused activities and to maintain a vibrant programming calendar.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Activities and staff to ensure the highest possible resident attendance at each activity.
- Assist in monthly planning of the activity calendar and brainstorm new activities with the Activity Director.
- Update digital signage, activity schedules, and activity descriptions.
- Survey residents, observe interest, and recommend activity topics.
- Help develop and maintain the daily exercise programming.
- Communicate with the Director of Activities to ensure programs are implemented to their fullest potential and provide feedback on effectiveness.
- Set up for activities, assist with clean-up, organize supplies, and notify the Activity Director of any supplies that need replenishment.
- Practice good safety and protect residents from possible harm; report safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with marketing events, flyers, calendars, newsletters, and update social media as needed.
- Work with volunteers to schedule, train, and organize day-to-day assignments.
- Assist with scheduling transportation or driving vehicles as needed.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and report any issues or concerns immediately.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : At least a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in health care, recreation, or related field is preferred.Experience : Six (6) months of experience in providing planned activities or enrollment in an appropriate education or training program for communities licensed for 16–49 residents; one (1) year of experience in conducting group activities for communities licensed for 50 or more residents.Supervisory experience preferred (one year).Skills
Mathematical : Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations for pricing and producing reports.Reasoning : Understand complex issues and carry out a plan of action on own initiative.Oral / Written Communication : Demonstrates sound verbal and written communication skills in dealing with residents, staff, families, visitors, and vendors; must be able to speak, read, and write English.Equipment : Proficiency in basic office equipment, including a personal computer, to accomplish and maintain a high level of job performance.Physical Effort
Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a chest X-ray or an intradermal test result not more than 6 months prior or seven days after employment. Ability to load / unload residents into and out of property vehicle / van, assist residents during activities, and be mobile throughout the day.

Displays sincere compassion toward cognitively impaired older adults and demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families.
Working Conditions
Well-lighted, safe office with appropriate ventilation and temperature levels. Will be working in all resident care areas of the facility and accompanying residents on outings outside of the property.
Other
Employee must pass a criminal record clearance prior to beginning work, possess current first aid training, and be at least 18 years of age.
