Litigation Paralegal - Tampa, FL
EverStaff has partnered with a prestigious insurance defense law firm located in Tampa, Florida, seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment supporting attorneys in complex civil litigation and medical malpractice defense.
Position Summary
The Litigation Paralegal will provide comprehensive case management and trial preparation support to a team of attorneys handling insurance defense and medical malpractice matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, obtain, and manage client documents and electronic data for litigation files.
- Conduct background investigations and obtain authenticated records.
- Prepare discovery responses, pleadings, and document productions, including bates labeling and redactions.
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness lists, subpoenas, and coordinating witness meetings.
- Summarize medical records and billing statements; prepare medical chronologies and case summaries.
- Communicate effectively with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and insurance representatives.
- Coordinate with expert witnesses, including selection, retention, and preparation for testimony.
- Review and submit vendor invoices and case-related expenses.
- Conduct legal and factual research and utilize electronic case management tools efficiently.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense and / or medical malpractice.Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's degree required (ABA-approved program preferred).Florida Registered Paralegal designation preferred.Trial experience strongly preferred.Proficient with legal software, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment.Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask under deadlines.Compensation
