Job Purpose
Quality Assurance Technician
The Quality Assurance Technician will test raw materials and finished good panels produced at our manufacturing facility located in Chesapeake, VA.
Technicians will ensure that materials comply with product specifications as established both by suppliers and customers.
Preferred candidates should be familiar with quality standards set by International Organization of Standardization or ISO.
Data Reports, ISO records and other quality related activities will be communicated on a daily basis regarding quality performance.
Technician will work with multiple departments within the company and must be able to communicate effectively. Use of email and Microsoft Office applications will be required;
therefore, previous computer experience is a requirement.
Duties and Responsibilities of a Quality Assurance Technician
- Maintain and enhance the quality of raw materials and finished goods
- Implement the quality standards set by the company and ISO requirements
- File and report data on a daily basis via email or company databases and forms
- Work closely with multiple departments and effectively communicate procedures, activities and data
- Identify and communicate nonconforming procedures and materials efficiently
- Troubleshoot and solve problems in a timely manner as to not effect production
- Educate new operators or technicians regarding quality related procedures
- Follow and ensure strict compliance to all procedures
Education and Qualifications (preferred)
A minimum of 3 years experience in quality assurance is strongly preferred
Computer Skills (required)
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Power Point
- Experience with email and basic Windows applications
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment to include safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and additional PPE as required.
- Correctable eye sight required.
- Comfortable working around moving equipment.
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
- Frequent bending and stooping.
- Occasional squatting, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and above shoulder reaching.
- Able to stand for extended period of time.
- Dexterity manipulation required for use of hand tools and light equipment.
- Must be able to push / pull material using hand cart or pallet jack.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Moderate exposure to temperature change in non-climate controlled environment with potential of working near heated processes.
- Forklift license may be required for position and will be issued by Mitsubishi.
- Must be goal oriented with a focus on safety, process improvement and team building.

The salary range for this position is $16 - $19. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
