Chemical Technician

Pay rate : $22.00

Under the direction of the Chemist, responsible for generating routine assay data at a laboratory in support of exploration, mining, leaching, SXEW process, and cathode production.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Exhibit 100% dedication to safe work practices 100% of the time in the laboratory.
• Help ensure environmental compliance in the Laboratory.
• Be able to effectively multitask in a high-workload, fast-paced lab environment.
• Plan and control analytical work to effectively utilize resources with minimum or no direction.
• Effectively and efficiently manage and report data.
• Organize, weigh, digest, dilute, and assay blast hole samples as required for total copper determination.
• Identify parts, material, supplies, and equipment required to ensure continuous operation.
• Assist as directed with analysis of blast hole samples for sequential acid-soluble / cyanide soluble copper determination.
• Handle laboratory cleanup and routine reagent preparation as needed / directed.
• Maintain required training in environmental, health / safety awareness.
• Ensure all MSHA requirements are met and help review and update all laboratory safety procedures as required.
