Student U seeks a dynamic and motivated Summer Operations Coordinator for our engaging five-week Summer Academy. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about fostering a smooth-running and lively environment for middle and high school students, ensuring they stay active and excited as they prepare for their upcoming academic year. As the Operations Coordinator, you will oversee essential operations and logistics, crucial in delivering a memorable experience. This position reports directly to Karla Fernndez, the Associate Director of Operations.
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Summer Operations Coordinator will be responsible for the following job responsibilities :
- Logistics + Operations Support :
- Support the transition to and from the WG Pearson Center to Durham Academy. This multiday task will require the transition of all materials and supplies at our center needed for the operation of Summer Academy.
- Summer Academy Planning during orientation weeks (June 15 - June 26) will include data input, organization of supplies, work with student files, and other administrative responsibilities, as well as tours for staff on the campus. This role will be owning a presentation on what a day at Summer Academy looks like.
- Set up the Supply Room at the beginning of summer academy and supervise it weekly to ensure materials and supplies are properly organized, and request more if needed.
- Keep a daily inventory of all technology supplies (e.g., Chromebooks, chargers), and ensure all Chromebooks and technology are organized and charging at the end of the day.
- Own and manage the sign-in and sign-out process for technology items.
- Print and distribute timesheets to bus drivers, and serve as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding any scheduled shifts, etc.
- Oversee bus monitors and ensure coverage every day, working alongside our receptionist intern to ensure that rosters for all buses are completed and ready for monitors.
- Ensure that the campus and shared spaces are kept clean and organized.
- Support the daily operations of the summer program, which will include logistics for special events and dismissal operations.
- Assist the Healthy Foods Coordinator with meal logistics during summer academy, if needed, as well as for field trips.

All staff will participate in the Darkness to Light Training, which is child safeguarding training, to help them understand why preserving and protecting children is necessary and be fully aware of the procedure for reporting concerns.Compensation : $18 hourly rate
Commitment : Work weeks will include five full–time weeks of 40 hours per week (7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm, not including Holidays. Some training / orientation will occur in March (25), April (24 - 25), and June (15-26). These hours will also be compensated.
