Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a self-contained classroom serving kindergarten and first-grade students. The position is full-time, offering a consistent 33.35-hour workweek within an elementary school setting. The classroom includes approximately 8 students initially, with the possibility of increasing by one or two students as the year progresses. Support is provided through a paraprofessional and a 1 : 1 aide, allowing for a collaborative teaching environment focused on individualized student needs.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. You will work closely with fellow educators, support staff, and families to support student growth and academic success throughout the school year (CSY contract).

Qualifications for this role include :

• Bachelors degree or higher
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) Endorsement
• Preferably previous experience working with kindergarten and first-grade students
• Strong munication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families
