Responsibilities Work in a Level 3 NICU within an acute care hospital setting Patient population includes neonates with diagnoses such as sepsis rule-out, preemies, late preterm, infants of diabetic mothers, and neonatal abstinence syndrome Unit has 14 beds and uses a 1 : 1 or 1 : 3 nurse to patient ratio 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM) with every other weekend required No floating required Uses Cerner for electronic medical records and Phillips for telemetry Ventilator patients supported with RT and pharmacy 24 / 7 No nurse aides; charge nurse present Unit is secured / locked with neonatologist or pediatrician on call 24 / 7 Perform NICU nursing care for a range of neonatal diagnoses excluding surgical patients Lab draws are performed on neonates, and patients may be discharged home or transferred to pediatrics from the NICU Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts on unit (12 total hours of orientation) Navy blue scrubs required Holiday coverage may be required as part of the core rotation Candidates may not have been employed in any CommonSpirit-associated facility within the past year No local radius or first-time traveler restrictions specified Requirements Active, current CA RN license required at the time of application (pending licenses not accepted) Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience required Certifications : BLS and NRP required and must be current COVID-19 vaccination required Experience using ventilators and telemetry equipment preferred Experience with Cerner EMR preferred Must provide a copy of driver’s license for consideration Two professional references required : one supervisor reference within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference within the last 3 years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627292.
