Laboratory Maintenance Technician
Piper Health and Sciences is seeking a motivated Laboratory Maintenance Technician to provide support services to a well-established biotechnology company in the Germantown, MD area.
The Maintenance Technician will be the consultant responsible for day-to-day maintenance activities for laboratory equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities of the Laboratory Maintenance Technician include :
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of manufacturing process equipment and laboratory instruments.
- Oversee routine installation, assembly, and preventative maintenance activities for bioreactors, shakers, centrifuges, mixers, biosafety hoods, stability chambers, sterilizers, autoclaves, glass washers, clean steam systems, freezers, and pumps.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving equipment-related issues and ensure compliance with cGMP / GxP requirements
- Conduct routine inspections and calibration of equipment to meet regulatory and quality standards.
- Develop and update documentation related to equipment maintenance, repairs, and validation processes.
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians in equipment-related tasks.
Qualifications of the Laboratory Maintenance Technician :
- 3-4+ years of experience working in equipment maintenance (biotech, med device or pharmaceutical industry exp. is required)
- Knowledge in troubleshooting PLC systems, electrical, instrumentation and mechanical systems
- Experience using CMMS software & Blue Mountain systems
- Associate’s degree or vocational training in related field is preferred
Compensation of the Senior Equipment Maintenance Consultant :
- Salary : approximately $. - $. hourly, dependent on experience
