Certified Payroll Specialist

Our client, an industry leader in the construction sector, is seeking a highly skilled Certified Payroll Specialist to join their team. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity located in North Las Vegas. The ideal Payroll Specialist must be able to work in a small yet collaborative environment, have a strong background in payroll, and prior construction industry experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process all certified payroll submissions and ensure full compliance with prevailing wage laws for various construction projects.
  • Review and verify payroll records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and city requirements.
  • Work closely with subcontractors to verify wage compliance, particularly for projects involving prevailing wages.
  • Audit and inspect union and non-union contractor payrolls as part of the certified payroll process.
  • Utilize Computer Ease by Deltek software for payroll management (training provided if needed).
  • Prepare and submit detailed payroll reports to ensure proper reimbursement processes for large-scale projects.
  • Collaborate with staff across departments, including AP and field employees, to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Certified Payroll Specialist in the construction industry is required.
  • Strong familiarity with prevailing wage laws and certified payroll compliance (non-union).
  • Highly proficient in payroll systems and technology; experience with Computer Ease by Deltek is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors and monitoring their compliance is highly desired.
