Pay Range: Starts at $ per hour, depending on experience
Position Summary:
Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Director of Member Relationships, the Snack Shack Attendant will assist the member service team in the overall delivery of excellent customer service to all members and guests of the branch. The Snack Shack Attendant will be responsible for monitoring member access to YMCA facilities, responding to member and guest needs, and serving members at the Snack Shack.
Essential Functions:

Ensure safe and risk free environment at all times while meeting the individual needs of the participants

Arrive to work on time wearing a YMCA staff shirt and nametag to signify a staff person ready to serve

Build relationships and interact with members; greet and welcome every member with a hello or goodbye as they enter or leave the facility

Handle and resolve member complaints; inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues

Keep Snack Shack organized and keep work area clean; when applicable, comply with health department regulations

Adhere to Snack Shack cash procedures

Monitor facility for safety concerns, security and guest concerns; communicate any concerns to, and seek help of, supervisor immediately

Build relationships and interact with members

Attend staff meetings and training sessions
Qualifications
Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA
An enthusiastic personality with the desire to serve members, volunteers, guests, participants and staff to create a culture of service within our Centers
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

Minimum 16 years of age
Certifications Required:

Before start of 1st shift: New Hire Orientation training

Within 30 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/AED, and not scheduled alone + EAP
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level is usually minimal to moderate.
