The Position
We are currently growing our Trusts, Estate, and Private Wealth Practice Group and are looking for a Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support 4 attorneys. The ideal candidate will have experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a trusts and estates practice group, or transferrable skills gained from a different profession with a willingness to learn (i.e., legal assistant / paralegal in a different practice area, perhaps with a transactional focus).

Requirements
Essential responsibilities of the position will include :
Organizing, tracking, and maintaining original documents and electronic files in document management systemScheduling meetings, deadlines, and maintaining attorney calendarsAdministrative operations such as : trust deposits; check requests, expense reimbursementRemit Bush Ross bills to client for payment / follow-upFile documents with the courts or other government entitiesElectronic document managementCompile closing binders / legal documents for transmission to clientPerforming initial assessment of project / matter deliverables and requirementsWorking with the Attorney to develop appropriate estate / trust plan for clientsDrafting, proofing, and finalizing legal documents to include pleadings and estate plansComposing correspondence / responses that deal with legal subject matter requiring considerable discretion and judgmentTrack status of tasks and documents requiring action by client / prospective clientContacting state and federal agenciesPerforming records research, review, and analysisCommunicating and meeting with clients, as neededNotarization of DocumentsIdeal candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications :
Prior trusts and estates legal assistant or paralegal experience, or transferrable skills with a willingness to learnExcellent written and verbal communication skills are requiredMust be a self-starter, professional, team player with a pleasant demeanorAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to changing prioritiesProficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and public record searchesFamiliarity with WorkShare, electronic filings with governmental entities and document management systems.Ability to work overtime
