Pediatric Psych NP
A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a new Psych Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a Part-time opportunity working with the Pediatric population.
In this role, the Pediatric Psych NP will be responsible for providing outpatient care to patients within the organization's programs (transitional housing, residential & foster care) showing a change or decline in mental status, chronic or urgent medical conditions.
About the Opportunity :
- Start Date : ASAP
- Assignment Length : Ongoing (6+ months)
- Schedule : Monday to Friday (2 to 3 days per week)
- Hours : 9am to 5pm
- Population : Birth - Young Adult : Ages 0-21
- Setting : Article 31 clinic
Responsibilities :
The Pediatric Psych NP will be responsible for :
- Medication management and diagnosis
- Performing patients histories and physicals, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to consultations and appointments
- Prescribing medications following the clinic's policy, formulary and relevant regulations of the State
- Putting all relevant patient data in medical records and case presentations
- Formulating, execute and review healthcare education delivered to patients and families for diseases prevention
- Ensuring smooth communication with other health professionals for effective delivering of clinic service to patients
- Providing consultation to the clinic's nursing and medical staff for improvement in their work performance, which enhances overall quality service delivery of the clinic
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications :
- 2+ years of related work experience
- NYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
- Board Certified
- Active DEA
- Medicare / Medicaid background
- Experience working with the Pediatric population
